What is Alexis'
Suitcase, anyway? Alexis' Suitcase began with the idea that a consignment store should be more like a boutique. Clean store,
friendly and helpful staff, and current styles in good condition. Jayna Thompson, the owner, had
shopped at way too many consignment stores
with her mother that only had outdated styles, rude salespeople, and let's be honest...that smell! She thought there was a need for good
gently-used clothes for
fashionable people at good prices. And it turns out, there was!
Since Alexis' Suitcase was founded in a 1300 square foot store in Sandy Springs in 2005, it has quickly grown to 3 locations in Atlanta and over 8,000 square
of retail space. Our mission has always been to offer good brands at better prices, and we've found that
our customers are into it too!
Why is our slogan "Part consignment,
Part boutique" you ask? We
get overstock clothing and jewelry from boutiques all over the country and can offer these brand new pieces at a fraction of retail!
We feature these items in our special "Boutique" sections at our stores.
What's with the name "Alexis'
Suitcase"? The name came about when Jayna was still in college
and dreaming of opening her own boutique one day. During a study
abroad trip to Australia, she found herself "shopping" in her
roommate, Alexis' suitcase way more than her own. Each morning she
would ask Alexis if she could borrow something for the day, asking "can
I go shopping in Alexis' Suitcase for something to wear?" She
still likes to think that shopping consignment feels like getting to
wear your more stylish friend's clothing!
Alexis' Suitcase was
voted Best of Atlanta in Atlanta Magazine, Best of Citysearch for many
years running, and has been featured on CNN and CBS.
